About Programme

The UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme invites younger researchers to apply for the 2025 MAB Young Scientists Awards. These awards purpose to foster progressive, interdisciplinary analysis aligned with the goals of the MAB Programme, particularly inside biosphere reserves. These awards assist tasks that target marine, island, and coastal ecosystems. This initiative displays UNESCO’s energetic position in the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, aiming to advance data and innovation for wholesome oceans.

Established in 1989, the awards present as much as US$5,000 per recipient to assist tasks specializing in ecosystems, biodiversity, and sustainable use of pure assets.


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following necessities:

  • Be 35 years outdated or youthful at the time of application closing (15 May 2025).

  • Submit their proposal utilizing the official MAB Young Scientists Award type (obtainable in English and French).

  • Have their application endorsed by the MAB National Committee of their nation.
