Applications at the moment are open for the 2025 Africa Organization for Standardization (ARSO) 12th Continental Essay Competition. The SABS is a member of African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO). 2025 Theme

Role of Education about Standardisation (EaS) in shaping Education and African Students for the sustainable Development Opportunities and challenges in the twenty first Century.

To take part in the competitors, college students should submit their essays to the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS).
The SABS will assess and award the highest 5 nationwide winners.The high 5 successful essays shall be forwarded to ARSO as entries in the continental competitors. All essays should be well-written, exhibit creativity and innovation, in addition to understanding of the theme for evaluation – as guided in the next continental idea word. In addition to the continental requirement, the SABS additional requires that essays should be correctly formatted (structured and justified) and correctly referenced.

Entry Requirements

• This competitors is open to all South African college students presently registered at any tertiary establishments in South Africa, as acknowledged by the National Department of Education and Council of Higher Education.
• Interested international college students at South African tertiary establishments are inspired to submit their essays to the nations of their origin.
• Participants should be 35 years outdated or youthful. Information and guidelines of participation in the competitors are included in the idea word.
• Essays must be between 1000 and 1200 phrases. The essays must be double spaced and introduced in Century Gothic, dimension 12.
• Essays should be written in English.
