2024-2025 White House Fellowship

The application for the 2024-2025 White House Fellowship Program is now open.

The President’s Commission on White House Fellowships’ Rose Vela stated today that the application period for the 2024–2025 White House Fellowship year is now open: “We hope that Americans with a passion for leadership and public service will look at the website, examine the criteria, and consider applying—or encourage others to consider applying.” This distinctively nonpartisan program has a remarkable record that spans more than 50 years.

The President’s Commission on White House Fellowships, which was established in 1964, is the top leadership and public service program in the country. The White House Fellowship provides extraordinary Americans with purely nonpartisan firsthand experience working at the highest levels of the Federal Government. Selected individuals serve as full-time paid government employees in Washington, D.C. for a year, providing support to senior White House staff, Cabinet Secretaries, and other high-ranking government officials.

The initiative has produced an incredible legacy of leadership. Throughout the past 50 years, over 800 alumni have gone on to hold prominent roles in the media, philanthropy, business, education, and military. Former students working in the administration include U.S. Ambassador to Panama Mari Carmen Aponte, Assistant to the President and Director of the National Economic Council Lael Brainard, and Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro.

August 2024 will mark the start of the 2024–2025 White House Fellows Program year, which will end in August 2025. All candidates must be citizens of the United States and have finished their undergraduate studies. The only people who can apply are active duty military members and employees of the federal government.

Selection criteria include:

  • A record of remarkable early-career professional achievement.
  • Evidence of leadership skills and the potential for further growth.
  • A demonstrated commitment to public service.
  • The skills to succeed at the highest levels of the Federal Government and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Interested individuals may apply at: https://fellows.whitehouse.gov/. The application is available as of November 1, 2023, and will remain open until January 5, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. ET. Any applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.
