DOST SCHOLARSHIPS 2024

A range of scholarship programs are available from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to assist Filipino students who wish to pursue degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). These initiatives seek to improve science and technology in the Philippines while producing a trained labour force. (DOST SCHOLARSHIPS 2024)

DOST Scholarship Types:

The DOST offers a number of scholarship programmes that are tailored to various educational levels:

Undergraduate dost Scholarships:

  • Junior Level scientific Scholarship (JLSS):
  • Third-year college students enrolled in priority scientific and technology programmes are eligible to apply for financial aid under this programme.
  • The RA 7687 Scholarship offers low-income students who are enrolled in priority scientific and technology programmes financial support.

Merit Scholarship:

  • Under this programme, worthy students who have excelled academically in maths and science are given scholarships.

Scholarships for Graduate School:

  • Scholarships for master’s and doctoral degrees: These initiatives provide funding to deserving candidates seeking advanced degrees in high-demand science and technology disciplines.
  • Foreign Graduate Scholarship: Under this programme, Filipino students who want to pursue graduate studies at prestigious universities and research centres overseas can apply for scholarships.
  • DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship: Recipients of this programme are exceptional science and technology graduates who are doing postgraduate work in the discipline.

1# The S&T Undergraduate Scholarships

The S&T Undergraduate Scholarships Program aims to stimulate and entice talented Filipino youths to pursue lifetime productive careers in science and technology and ensure a steady, adequate supply of qualified S&T human resources which can steer the country towards national progress.

Scholarship Type:

MERIT
The DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship Program, formerly known as the NSDB or NSTA Scholarship under RA No. 2067, is awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and are willing to pursue careers in the fields of science and technology.


RA 7687
Republic Act No. 7687, also known as the “Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994”, provides for scholarships to talented and deserving students whose families’ socio-economic status does not exceed the set cut-off values of certain indicators. Qualifiers must pursue priority fields of study in the basic sciences, engineering, other applied sciences, and science and mathematics teaching.

2# The Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS)

The Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) Program aims to: provide scholarships that will finance the education of talented and deserving students in their third year of college and who are pursuing degree programs in the areas of science and technology; and ensure a steady, adequate supply of qualified S&T human resources who can steer the country towards national progress.

RA 10612
Republic Act No. 10612 aims to strengthen the country’s science and technology education by fast-tracking graduates in the sciences, mathematics and engineering who shall teach science and mathematics in secondary schools throughout the country.
