Numerous awards are given out for a variety of student activities. Rewarding excellence and motivating students to pursue their goals to the fullest is the goal.
Three categories are used to assign awards:
- Academic; All-Rounder; Specialist.
- To evaluate a student’s proficiency in a variety of areas that are typical of a Prep or Primary School curriculum, a number of exams are written.
While a fundamental understanding of the major subject areas is demanded of candidates, we place a strong emphasis on potential, therefore particular memory-based knowledge is minimized.
We are looking for genuine flare, intellectual sharpness, and empathy for others; candidates who recite prepared responses may not necessarily demonstrate their true abilities.
This gives students with potentially more varied prior educational backgrounds access to any academic award.
The Headmaster and the Scholarship Election Committee have the final say over the awarding of all scholarships and exhibitions.
There is no cap on the total number of prizes given out in any given year; all awards are presented on the basis of merit. Furthermore, the Election Committee is not under any obligation to grant a specific amount of prizes.
