Teams of two or more graduates who satisfy all of the program eligibility conditions below are invited to submit proposals. By February 15, 2024, exchange graduates who would like to take part in AEIF 2022 should send ideas to kampalagrants@state.gov.

PROGRAM SUMMARY

Alumni of U.S.-sponsored and assisted exchange programs, as well as alumni-affiliated groups, can apply for financing from AEIF to build on the knowledge and abilities they acquired during their exchange experience to create and carry out creative solutions to local and global problems. Through a competitive worldwide competition, AEIF has sponsored almost 500 alumni-led projects worldwide since its founding in 2011. Projects submitted and overseen by groups of two or more alumni are eligible to apply for AEIF 2024 through the Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy in Uganda. These projects must address one or more of the following issues:

Organize alumni from various exchange programs to collaborate more across regions and the world by creating or growing an alumni network that can work together on shared interests.
build links between the US government and graduates to collaborate on projects that tackle shared objectives and difficulties.
Encourage former students to take up leadership roles and carry out community-based projects.
Every project proposal for the AEIF must entail the participation of two or more alumni, or of alumni and an alumni association. Every project activity must to happen outside of the US and its territories.

The only proposals that will be funded are those that are presented on the proper forms.
