Embark on innovative research initiatives during a three-month fellowship at one of the world’s most esteemed universities.
Available to students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications.
International students can apply for summer fellowships at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), through the School of Computer and Communication Sciences. Working with eminent senior scientists, participants have the opportunity to pick up new skills and receive practical experience in the field of their choice.
What’s that?
Recipients of fellowships will engage in the day-to-day operations of a research unit, mainly to assist in resolving issues that are part of larger research projects. This frequently results in completing difficult programming or design tasks to validate novel ideas. A living stipend of CHF 1,800.-per month (pro rata to the actual duration) and reimbursement for travel expenses (a second-class train ticket or an inexpensive, economy aircraft) will be given to accepted students.
Who is able to take part?
Fellowships in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering are given to students enrolled in BSc, BTech, MSc, MTech, or comparable programs. PhD candidates are not accepted. Applicants must be enrolled in the second year of their bachelor’s degree or above at the time of application; thus, all applicants must have successfully finished at least the first year of their bachelor’s program. Students with superior academic standing are given competitive opportunities to complete projects.
And how do I apply?
Applications are accepted only once a year, with the deadline being on the Sunday nearest December 1st. Applications may become available up to a few weeks prior to the deadline.
