About the Program
Students are placed at American colleges, where they finish their academic program, get project management and leadership experience, and deepen their knowledge of civic society and participatory governance practices in the US and the MENA region. The creation of Community Engagement Plans (CEPs), the program’s cornerstone, requires each student to identify a problem or opportunity pertaining to environmental protection or climate change that they would like to address in their local communities. Students will have the chance to interact with civil society organizations, participate in community service projects, and meet their American counterparts during the program.
The summer session is the most intensive of the three parts that make up the Student Leaders Program (SLP), which runs for a full year. The summer program, which would last for four intense weeks, is tentatively slated from June 28 to July 26, 2024. There will be in-person instruction for the summer program. After the summer program ends, students will put their Community Engagement Plans (CEPs) into action and be given access to additional training, support, and professional networking opportunities. They will also be able to join the 2,000-strong MEPI Alumni network. There might be a competitive follow-up Accelerator Workshop in the area.
