ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

These jobs are found in Regional Bureaux (RBs), Country Offices (COs), Area/Field Offices (AOs/FOs). Job holders typically report to a Programme Policy Officer or Head of Field Office. At this level, job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to various queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen operational problems on a daily basis. Job holders are expected to manage resources and coach and coordinate support staff.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completation of secondary education. University Degree in statistics, management of databases or related area. Additional trainings/courses are an asset.

 Experience: At least Six years of relevant work experience in the areas of data analysis, data collection, management of databases, field assessments or monitoring and evaluation. Previous experience and familiarity with WFP’s beneficiary registration system (SCOPE) is an asset.

 Language: Fluency in both Portuguese and English language.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  •  Provide technical support and assist in the verification and cleaning of the data collected, identifying and correcting gaps, inconsistencies and technical issues;
  •  Ensure and/or perform accurate statistical analyses of the data collected, preparing reports on the profile of beneficiaries and household vulnerabilities as required;
  •  Within the specific area of responsibility, prepare tables, charts, infographics, briefs, narratives and other communication products related to beneficiary identity data management;
  •  Coordinate the preparation of situation reports and progress updates regarding the data enhancement exercise;
  •  Assist in the preparation and revision of standard operating procedures for enumerators in order to improve data quality and consistency;
  •  Liaise with technical counterparts from the government and from CPs to coordinate the import and export of datasets as required;
  •  Provide specialized project management support to specific and/or defined programmes to ensure technical preparation and cleaning of datasets to be imported to or exported from SCOPE;
  •  Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis, undertaking field missions and duty travel as required;
  •  Perform other related duties as required.

Type of contract: Service Contract, Level 6 Duty Station: Maputo Duration: 6 months
