An invitation is being sent to qualified community-based organisations (CBOs) actively engaged in carrying out programmes that are in line with the Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) Response Fund1.

A wide range of CBOs are encouraged to participate in the ongoing efforts to battle GBVF in accordance with the NSP by means of the current Request for Proposals (RFP2).
A nationwide response to gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) in South Africa includes the GBVF Response Fund. The Fund’s purpose is to stimulate activities related to the GBVF National Strategic Plan (NSP). The Fund is a private sector-driven effort that seeks to combine, guarantee a consistent and coordinated approach in response to GBVF in society and the workplace. It is led by an independent Board of Directors.
Pillars
- The Fund will concentrate more on all NSP Pillars, especially Pillars 2, 3, 4, and 5. The following are the Six Pillars of the NSP:
- Responsibility, organisation, and guidance
- Avoidance and restoring societal harmony
- Protection, safety, and justice
- Reaction, assistance, care, and recovery
- Financial strength
- Information management and research
Focus
- The initial Request for Proposals (RFP1) adopted certain tenets that guided the CBO selection standards. Therefore, the Fund will keep giving CBOs a higher priority while focusing on their programming:
- organisations that operate in underdeveloped, marginalised, peri-urban, informal, and rural areas;
- GBV bulletins
- Increase the scale with the intention of stepping up GBVF preventive initiatives, especially through evidence-based and informed interventions.
- To handle various forms of violence, use intersectionality. Discussing the connections between, for instance, GBV and handicap, GBV and HIV, and GBV Against Women and GBV Against Children (VAWNAC).
- Intergenerational strategies to end the GBV loop across generations, start early with children, and give voice to kids, teens, and other marginalised groups.
- Organisations that assist vulnerable populations, like those with disabilities
Financial Details
- Grants totaling R300,000 per year, for a maximum of two years, will be given to successful applicants.
Eligibility
- Must be a Trust or Non-Profit Company (NPC) that is duly registered with the CIPC in South Africa. International organisations won’t be taken into account. delivery of the company’s registration paperwork.
- Possess been registered for a minimum of three (3) years prior to the application date.
- SARS’s valid tax clearance certificate (the current fiscal year’s Letter of Good Standing).
- the last three years Annual financial statements audited and accompanied by a signed letter from the auditor.
- Letter of confirmation of bank account (not more than three months old).
- Identity documents and proof of address for board/governing members and senior management (with consent).
- Previous statements about performance capacity.
- Submission of an organogram detailing the qualifications for key persons involved in grant implementation, including financial and programme management and the execution of community-based GBVF activities, together with an organisational capability statement or profile.
- Attestation from the applicant verifying that the aforementioned papers were created, and where required, obtained from the various relevant legislative authorities, that they adhere to the relevant requirements, and that they include responsible and complete disclosure 10. The applicant must attest that the authorised individual, whose personal records were provided to the GBVF Response Fund 1 (Board Resolution), granted consent.
