Every year, students from Nigerian postsecondary institutions can in the essay competition JAME Competition. The competition is held in honour of Miss Jemila Abubakar, the Asido Foundation’s first project manager

Awards and Prize Value:
The Asido Foundation will give out cash awards in the following amounts:
- 1st Place N200,000
- 2nd Place N15,000.
- 3rd Place N100,000
- Mentoring programme will be awarded to the top 15.
Eligibility
- Candidates must be undergraduate students at any postsecondary school in Nigeria.
- Applicants must be able to show documentation of their student status and sign the Unashamed promise made by the Asido Foundation (asidofoundation.com/unashamed).
Instructions
- The word count for the essay should be between 750 and 1500 words at most.
- The essay needs to be saved as a Microsoft Word document.
- A scanned copy of your most recent photo, documentation confirming your enrollment, and your unabashed pledge certificate must be uploaded.
- Plagiarism in ANY FORM and essays produced by AI will automatically disqualify submissions.
- The application period begins on October 27 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on December 3, 2023.
