In order to meet its objective of promoting the growth of the insurance and reinsurance business in Africa, the London School of Insurance and Africa Re collaborated to create the FREE online Young Insurance Professionals Programme (YIPP).

This annual FREE online training program’s goal is to give exceptional professionals the chance to advance their careers more quickly, which will help the insurance and reinsurance industries in Africa. The insurance programme serves as the foundation for a fascinating career in the field. Those who are accepted into the Young Professionals curriculum will go through an annual training curriculum that includes a “stretch/learning assignment” that will allow them to obtain important real-world work experience.

Through a special combination of on-the-job training and a customised online training curriculum in insurance, reinsurance, leadership, and management modules, the YIPP trainee will build a career by gaining knowledge and competencies. It is anticipated that after completing this programme, participants will have a better understanding of the reinsurance sector and their future goals in terms of excellent governance, accountability, and leadership;

Through the development of a positive approach to competition in the African reinsurance markets, participants will be able to decrease some bad practises and approaches and enhance professionalism. Upon successful completion of the Young Insurance Professionals Programme, participants will receive essential on-the-job training for a year, along with a built-in “stretch/learning assignment.”

Participants should expect the programme to have a good effect on them to:

  • Recognise the reinsurance sector and its goals for great governance, accountability, and leadership in the future;
  • Reduce certain bad practises and techniques to foster a healthy competitive environment in the African reinsurance markets;
  • Enhance professional and career growth
  • Evaluation and Commentary
  • Tests and evaluation activities are included and have several goals, including improving comprehension of the mentioned topics, procedures, and principles and helping students memorise them.

Minimum Qualification Criteria

  • Citizen of an African nation-state; no more than 35 years old;
  • A comparable bachelor’s degree;
  • Relevant professional experience in an insurance brokerage business, an insurance or reinsurance company, or a comparable industry;
  • Ability to use the internet;
  • Outstanding oral and writing communication abilities in French or English.


Application Conditions

Utilisation

  • Young African insurance professionals with qualifications who work for insurance or reinsurance companies, brokerage firms, supervisory bodies, or similar organisations are encouraged to apply.
  • Those who are interested are asked to apply online between January 14, 2024, and October 01, 2023.
  • Applications that are submitted after the deadline won’t be taken into account. The curriculum vitae, cover letter, and reference forms should be uploaded by candidates. An interview could be included in the evaluation procedure if it is seen necessary.

  • The 14 courses must be successfully completed for the programme, which is free, to be considered finished.
