Faspe Journalism Program 2024 (Fully Funded)

Deadline: 2nd January 2024 | FASPE Journalism Program 2024 (Fully Funded)

A two-week intensive course on professional ethics and ethical leadership is called FASPE. Neither a Holocaust studies course nor a genocide prevention initiative is what FASPE is. Instead, the curriculum is meant to push Fellows to think critically about ideas, trends, and problems that pose moral questions for their professions in the modern environments in which they operate.

The Fellows of FASPE journalistic are held to a higher standard of ethical leadership in their media and journalistic careers. FASPE starts by looking at the decisions and actions made by German and foreign journalists who supported and covered Nazi policies. The Journalism Fellows are then guided to identify and tackle the ethical difficulties that journalists and media institutions as a whole are currently experiencing by FASPE, which draws on this historical example to help them understand their position and responsibilities as individuals with influence in their communities.

Fourteen to sixteen journalism students and early-career journalists get grants from FASPE Journalism each year. The two weeks that fellows spend in Berlin and Poland include daily seminars conducted by specialised professors, as well as visits to significant locations related to Nazi history. The programme combines academic rigour with numerous informal chances for creative collaboration, as well as the power of place.

FASPE has access to a wide range of applicants, whose varied interests and backgrounds enhance conversations both within and outside of the seminar room. Reporting Along with sharing meals and activities, as well as participating in many interdisciplinary seminars, fellows have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the role of professionals by travelling with Medical and Seminary Fellows. Because FASPE Fellowships are fully financed, participation is not influenced by one’s ability to pay.
