The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Jamaica Programme, which aims to provide ambitious women with the resources, connections, and training necessary to start and grow successful enterprises, is currently accepting applications.

The AWE programme directly supports the U.S. National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality by advancing women’s economic prospects and ensuring that they have the skills and resources necessary to engage in the market.

Locally, AWE leverages the strength of public-private sponsors, local alliances, and networks of U.S. Exchange Alumni to support the development of women and their enterprises, promoting localised prosperity in communities across over 100 nations globally.

An initiative for female entrepreneurs, AWE (Jamaica Chapter) was created by the US Embassy in Kingston in collaboration with the Youth-For-Development Network (YFDN). AWE is specifically designed to meet the requirements of Jamaican women, both urban and rural.

30 Women (Ages 18-35) are featured in the AWE 3.0 programme. Clarendon and Kingston.

Programme Advantages

  • Hybrid training model: in-person facilitation and mentoring combined with an online dreambuilder course platform
  • Put your attention on developing strong teamwork abilities, hard skill sets, financial management, marketing, and business pitch writing.
  • Creative reframing in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
