The ACT Foundation backs high-impact, sustainable projects that offer creative answers to Africa’s environmental, social, and economic problems. Their goal is to use connections to develop successful social impact initiatives throughout Africa. By engaging in projects that unleash potential and empower recipients, they hope to develop sustainable societies.

Emphasis Areas

Health

  • They seek to guarantee health and well-being in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, particularly for the weaker and more marginalised segments of society. They hold the opinion that people can become productive members of society and escape poverty if they lead healthy lives. They back a number of projects and programmes that address non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health in novel and long-lasting ways.
  • Surroundings
  • Global concerns include soil erosion, air and water pollution, land and forest degradation, and climate change since they impede efforts to attain sustainable development. In accordance with SDG Goals 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 13 (Climate Action), ACT Foundation is committed to assisting human endeavours that ensure access, availability, and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable, and take immediate action to combat climate change and its effects on vulnerable communities. They back initiatives and programmes related to climate action, safe drinking water access, and integrated waste management.

Direction

  • The mission of the ACT Foundation is to develop a new generation of credible, responsible, and moral leaders who will spearhead programmes that advance efficient and long-lasting human and economic development.
  • The goal is to help people (especially young people and women) develop personally and professionally as they contribute to economic growth, good governance, and organisational and professional development. As a result, they back programmes that promote national development, youth leadership, and thought leadership.

Business Ownership

  • Goal 8 of the Sustainable Development Agenda reiterates the need to advance full and productive employment, decent work for all, and sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth. According to research, entrepreneurship supports inclusive, sustainable industrialization, the development of resilient infrastructure, and innovation. Africa, one of the world’s fastest-growing continents, needs to encourage entrepreneurship to provide access to goods and services, foster economic development, and improve the well-being of the neglected population.
  • The goal of the entrepreneurial intervention is to assist programmes that raise people’s standard of living by empowering them economically and generating money, thereby lowering poverty. The acquisition of digital and vocational skills, as well as financial inclusion and literacy, are the main points of emphasis.
