Lengthy Synopsis

1) Encourage the OER Dynamic Coalition (OER DC) to carry out its activities. Support the creation of the OER DC Portal by offering assistance with content development and community building. Encourage regional and intra-regional cooperation amongst stakeholders. Ensure that the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is notified of OER DC activities.

2) Plan and coordinate at least three webinars of the Bilingual OER Dynamic Coalition. This includes choosing subjects, creating a concept note in advance, communicating with speakers and UNESCO CLD services, contributing to the webinar moderator’s work, and carrying out any necessary follow-up steps.

3) Assist in the finalization of the Briefing Notes for the UNESCO OER Recommendation Implementation, plan awareness-raising activities, and enable the planning of a minimum of two workshops for the application of these instruments.

4) Assist in planning and carrying out the November 2023 UNESCO OER Dynamic Coalition Advisory Group Meeting. This would entail participating in the discussions, reporting on the results, and assisting in the application of the event’s findings, such as international conferences pertaining to the application of the UNESCO 2019 OER Recommendation.

5) Promote the ICT Competency Framework for Teachers/Harnessing OER project’s implementation by communicating with a minimum of two Member States to support the facilitation of associated capacity building, providing digital skill development for trainers of instructors who work with youth. This involves coordinating with the ICT CFT Harnessing Network and providing assistance for its continued advancement.

6) Help with resource requirements analysis, creating and modifying targets for resource mobilization, prospect mapping, drafting financing bids as needed, and contacting possible partners.

7) Encourage backstopping within the context of initiatives pertaining to open solutions and digital inclusiveness.

8) Create news releases, summaries, synthesis notes, briefings, and other program materials pertaining to current and upcoming initiatives, events, and activities of the OER Dynamic Coalition; do pertinent desk research.

IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS

Instruction

a master’s degree or above from an advanced university program in social sciences, education, communication, or a similar discipline.

Experience at Work

  • familiarity with putting OER and UNESCO normative instruments into practice.
  • Work experience setting up and maintaining electronic collaborative workspaces to carry out tasks in a multicultural and multilingual setting.
  • experience working in the UN or UNESCO context on ICT and education-related projects.
  • prior experience as a field worker with UNESCO.
  • two years minimum of relevant experience working in international education.
  • familiarity with conveying project implementation actions and outcomes in a multilingual setting.

Spoken Words

  • It will be advantageous to speak Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and/or Spanish.
