Goals and Mission

UNICEF is in charge of giving children all across the world humanitarian and developmental assistance. The goal of the UNICEF Health program is to support national health priorities by focusing on initiatives that will improve the lives of the most disadvantaged children. Examples of these initiatives include the establishment of community-level initiatives and services to promote children’s health and well-being, as well as the prevention and treatment of diseases. UNICEF promotes health prevention initiatives for children illnesses, immunization campaigns, and financing for long-term healthcare services in accordance with this approach. The Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989), which upholds every child’s right to “the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health and to facilities for the treatment of illness and rehabilitation of health,” has served as the foundation for UNICEF’s activities. In order to provide every child with a solid foundation and the best opportunity to reach their full potential, UNICEF is dedicated to ensuring that their rights are realized. From making sure the woman has access to quality neonatal care and delivers the kid in a clean, safe environment to helping the child grow up to be a responsible, healthy, and knowledgeable parent to the next generation, we think that creating a happy and healthy child starts even before the child is born. For a child to complete this journey, they must have access to healthcare, education, clean water and sanitation, shelter, and a healthy diet.
