  • Help oversee resettlement efforts to guarantee that goals are being met, that case filings are transparent and efficient, and that the right follow-up is being done with the resettlement countries and other important parties.
  • Find, interview, evaluate, and process those who have been designated for resettlement in accordance with established protocols; conduct field missions as needed; offer individual counseling.
  • Support the nation’s selection missions conducted by resettlement countries.
  • Determine who has the potential to access supplementary paths for admission by conducting interviews and making appropriate referrals; carry out field missions as needed; offer individual counseling.
  • Adhere to UNHCR policy and guidelines on HIV/AIDS; systematically use an Age, Gender, and Diversity perspective in all parts of the resettlement and complementary paths for admission process.
  • Reduce fraud associated with resettlement or supplementary paths by providing oversight, counsel, and guidance, as well as in-country travel.
  • Help the national operation with group resettlement processes, such as preparation, profiling, scheduling, organizing logistics, confirming, and following up after verification.
  • To guarantee efficient resettlement delivery and adherence to appropriate protection and resettlement standards, be in continuous communication and collaboration with resettlement nations and partners.
  • Take part in national dialogues with countries and partners involved in complementary paths and resettlement, when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

Language Prerequisites

Ideal Candidate Characteristics

  • Along with having a keen understanding of political sensitivities, the Assistant Resettlement and Complementary Pathways Officer (NOA) role demands good interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities. It is vital to possess strong policy analysis and written and verbal communication skills. Applications are encouraged from those who have prior experience with refugee higher education, labor mobility, and/or family reunification in a local or foreign setting.
