The U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF) and the Ministry of Industrialization and Trade of the Government of Namibia invite Namibian cooperatives, producer groups, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to submit proposals for grant financing and local assistance for creative solutions that go beyond their own capacity to increase food security, add value to local products, increase revenues, create jobs, improve incomes, and achieve sustainable market success.

The following value chain sectors will accept proposals
- Grain,
- Livestock,
- Horticulture,
- Agro-processing.
These proposals must come from registered cooperatives, producer groups, processors, distributors, and service providers in Namibia. The creation of new agricultural and economic strategies will also be taken into consideration. This includes, but is not limited to, information technology, digitization, and renewable energy-based agricultural solutions.
Additionally, proposals from micro, small, and medium-sized businesses operating in the industries of metalworking, woodworking, clothing manufacturing, cosmetics manufacturing, detergent manufacturing, and digital services will be invited.
Eligibility
- The organisation must show that it has been working successfully for at least two years, has a sizable number of active members, suppliers, or clients, and is capable of making good use of grant money.
- Ownership and management must concur on the issue(s) to be resolved and be dedicated to helping their neighbourhood.
- To prove its competence to account for MASP money, the organisation must have had fundamentally sound functional management and financial controls for at least two years.
- Organisations must formally register with one of the following Namibian government agencies: the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform (MAWLR), the Social Security Commission (SSC), the Namibia Revenue Agency (NAMRA), or the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA).
- Organisations must be run and owned by Namibians.
- The application deadline is November 15, 2023 at 16:59 Washington, DC time (23:59 local time).
Successful Submissions Require
- Possess a well-defined market potential to boost sales and raise incomes.
- Have a well-defined plan for how to boost revenues and incomes within the next two to four years.
- Be able to contribute a considerable amount of money or other resources to the initiative.
- Be able to significantly influence a large number of individuals and community members.
- Be able to determine a growth plan once the MASP award expires.
- Applications that use creative tactics to use cutting-edge techniques and technologies, such as complementary finance and information technology, will be given special consideration.
- Applications from women-owned businesses and organisations that support young people will also receive special consideration.

- You can apply for grants up to N$ 4,500,000 (US$ 250,000) here if you are a registered cooperative, producer group, processor, distributor, or service provider in Namibia working in grain, livestock, horticulture, or agro-processing.
- Small and medium-sized businesses that produce wood, clothes, metal, cosmetics, detergent, and internet services are eligible to apply for rewards of up to N$ 900,000 (USD $50,000) here.
