Deadline: December 1st 2023 | American Aftermath Project 2024 Grant – 1492/1619
The Aftermath Project is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to telling the other side of the conflict narrative—the tale of what it takes for people to rediscover life, to rebuild their homes and lives after being destroyed, to rebuild civil societies, and to deal with the lingering effects of war while trying to find new paths to peace. The research is a result of Sara Terry’s five-year research, Aftermath: Bosnia’s Long Road to Peace, which examined the effects of the 1992–1995 war in Bosnia and Hercegovina.

The impact of these post-conflict legacies from the perspective of the communities most impacted by them can be explored, as can the role of white privilege in causing and maintaining these injustices. Another way to examine these American aftershocks is to look at the origins of the slave trade in Africa and how it continues to affect that continent today.
