The RSD unit’s coordination team includes the reception coordinator. Scheduling RSD interviews, carrying out negative decision notification, ensuring physical files are retrieved from the filing room in time for upcoming RSD interviews, tracking down missing physical files, ensuring that all electronic databases, including proGres, are updated correctly, and ensuring that individuals of concern are admitted to the RSD premises in a timely manner are all duties of the reception coordinator.

The reception coordinator also counsels asylum seekers and refugees with UNHCR’s RSD procedures, their rights and obligations, especially towards the host authorities, and the progress of the processing of their claims, in addition to responding to their questions.
If the Reception Coordinator possesses the necessary language skills, they may offer interpreting and/or translation services. The reception coordinator needs strong organizational, time management, and planning skills.
The Reception Coordinator will be responsible for encouraging workplace harmony and teamwork and will be required to report everyday to the RSD offices in 6 October City, Giza Governorate. If employed by UNHCR Egypt, a minimum of 12 months must have been spent in the role.

Experience dealing with stateless people, internally displaced people, refugees, and asylum seekers is a plus.
