The United Kingdom is now accepting applications for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship 2024. The Gates Foundation provides funds to the University of Cambridge. The Bill and Melinda Gates Scholarship is offered to students from outside the United States who are enrolled in Masters and PhD programmes. The Bill Gates Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship opportunity open to all international students (with the exception of UK nationals), with a different application procedure and deadline for US citizens and the rest of the world.

The Gates Foundation established the Gates Cambridge Trust in October 2000 by donating US$210 million to the University of Cambridge. This is still the largest donation to a UK university that has ever been given. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Gates Cambridge Scholarship programme awards more than 80 scholarships each year. Only 25 of the 55 scholarships available to students around the world are for Americans.
Applications for the Gates Cambridge Scholarships for international and American students open on September 4, 2023, with the deadlines for both being October 11, 2023 and December 5, 2024, respectively.

- Maternity and paternity leave are just a few benefits available to students who are awarded the Gates Cambridge Scholarship 2022.
- For a 12-month period of education, these benefits can pay up to £17,500; for a second child, they can pay up to £4,320; and for up to four years of study. Financial assistance is not provided to partners.
Eligibility
- The Gates Scholarship is open to citizens of any country outside the UK applying for a PhD, MSc/MLitt, or one-year postgraduate course at the University of Cambridge, requiring academic excellence and strong case for the chosen course.
Application
- Applicants submit admission and financial applications through the University’s Graduate Application Portal, completing the entrance and college application portions as well as the Gates Cambridge funding component for Gates Cambridge’s consideration.
