In Burundi, UNICEF has a wide range of responsibilities, all of which are meant to support the government and other interested parties in achieving the economic, social, cultural, political, and civic rights of children. The goal of UNICEF’s country program in Burundi is to improve the lives of children and women in the following key areas: nutrition, education, child protection, water, sanitation, and hygiene, social policy, and labor rights. Teenagers’ independence, community resilience, and humanitarian response.

In this context, the postholder is responsible for organizing the implementation of all project components and monitoring their success in vulnerable communities in the provinces of Ngozi, Kayanza, and Muyinga, as well as providing support for the monitoring of the implementation of all project components for “No Time to Waste: Preventing Malnutrition in Children, Adolescents, and Women.”

What can you do to make a difference?

  • The key responsibility of the coordinator(trice) is to oversee the implementation of projects and maintain communication with the local authorities in charge of implementing field interventions. It/they will mostly handle the following tasks.

The Planning,

  • Coordination of collaborative projects and partnership strengthening
  • Suivi and evaluation of the implementation of interventions
  • Strengthening national and local capabilities/durability

You must .,,,,in order to be thought of as each child’s protector…

  • possessing a university degree in nutrition, medicine, agronomy, social sciences, public health, community development, or a related field.
  • a minimum of two years of professional experience in project management and technical coordination for nutrition, public health, or community development initiatives
  • An experience in building capacities and following and evaluating community projects; in budget monitoring and management; in institutional capacity building and knowledge management; on the ground and well-versed in Burundian administration; working with technical and financial partners; the civil society; the private sector; the level of the community; working with NU agencies;
  • An advantage is provided through motivation and immediate availability.
  • It is necessary to be fluent in English, French, and the local language.
