Duties

  • Enter information into the computer database, mostly about refugees, asylum seekers, and other people who are of concern to UNHCR.
  • Create reports and project papers by supplying data, setting up tables, and writing standard letters and reports.
  • Help with data collection and interpretation of statistics for various reports.
  • If asked, assist in creating forms for data collecting and analysis.
  • As needed, translate routine documents and communications and serve as an interpreter for the exchange of routine information.
  • Fieldwork to project sites and the collection of GIS data may be necessary.
  • Select the data stored in the database.
  • Make appropriate decisions on incident resolution and escalate problems to the supervisor if they cannot be handled internally.
  • Carry out any other necessary relevant tasks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Professional work experience and education
  • Years of Experience/Level of Education
  • G5—2 years of relevant experience and a high school diploma, or 1 year of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree.

Licenses and/or Certificates

  • Processing Electronic Data Information Technology

Relevant Work History

Desirable

  • completion of UNHCR learning programs or specialized training pertinent to the job’s requirements.

Language prerequisites
