In order to promote greater transparency and good governance, the MakanDay Eminent Prize for Investigative Reporting honours journalism that exposes abuses of power and corruption in politics, business and economics, labour concerns, and the justice system.

Prize Specifics
- Up to two winners may be chosen after entries are reviewed by a team of impartial judges.
- The prize for the overall winner is a brand-new laptop.
- The runners-up will receive a three-month internship at MakanDay that is fully compensated.
- Up to two honourable mentions may also be named by the judges, and they will be invited to a MakanDay-hosted award event.
Guidelines
- Entries must reveal instances of authority abuse, corruption, or unfairness.
- Each entry in the journalism category should also include the participants’ biographies and photos.
- You have the option of submitting your own work or suggesting someone else’s. Please get the author’s consent before nominating someone else’s work.
- The publication of entries in print, online, or broadcast media between January 1 and November 15, 2023, is required. Any entry that was not created or written in English must be submitted with a translation.
- If a submission was only published in print, kindly attach a scan. If a scan yields an ambiguous result, kindly also submit a transcript of the article in Word or PDF format.
- Please include a link or file if your entry involves broadcast journalism (TV, radio, internet video).
