Description

  1. The Country Diagnostics unit is in charge of carrying out sector analysis, delivering the recently upgraded and expanded Country Private Sector Diagnostics (CPSD), coordinating IFC inputs to the Country Climate and Development Reports (CCDR), and carrying out specialized sector analysis at the request of IFC Operations.
  2. The Economic Research unit is in charge of carrying out in-depth economic research that yields a number of IFC flagship reports and scholarly publications, holding forums and conferences for economic research, and developing databases, surveys, and other data assets.
  3. The Macro and Market Risk section is in charge of performing country risk assessments, macro scenarios, market risk analysis, monitoring capital flows and capital market developments, developing stock market outlooks, and performing other macro analysis as needed.
  4. To support the Macro and Market Risks (CERMR) unit’s administrative needs, CER is hiring a program assistant.

Responsibility & Role:

The Program Assistant will be under the direct supervision of the Manager, CERMR. The following are only a few of the responsibilities:

  • Complete administrative and logistical support, coordination of the appointment and meeting calendar, effective time management, and availability of pertinent papers for meetings. Whenever necessary, work closely with other WBG departments and business divisions.
  • Set up Webex, plan team meetings, and, if necessary, monitor and follow-up on issues and objectives.
  • Manage the teams’ meeting and appointment schedules, including formal activities, travel plans, and schedules.
  • Assist the CER Department’s activities and events with logistics.
  • Assist the team in gathering data and developing documents for internal and external distribution.
  • Manage the teams’ PCards and, when necessary, offer Admin Portal or eConsultant help for the procurement process;
  • Ensure that any paperwork that needs to be signed is of a high standard, complies with administrative operating requirements (e.g., memos, reports, Art III, etc.), and has all required clearances.
  • Use subtlety and compassion while handling private information, and uphold the highest standards of ethics at all times.
  • Use initiative and sound judgment to independently respond to inquiries from both internal and external parties.
  • In communication and papers, extract and highlight the important issues that require immediate attention, meetings, or areas of focus.
  • Support the department’s other assistants.
  • Any other work assigned that the department deems pertinent.

Selection Standards

  • Undergraduate degree and seven years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are the minimum requirements for education and experience.
  • The capacity to locate, compile, and get data from a variety of sources.
  • A strong desire to work in a team atmosphere, a demonstrated sense of teamwork, and the capacity to build professional networks to increase effectiveness.
  • Good judgment and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizing abilities.
  • Dependability, inventiveness, and adaptability.

  • The capacity for critical thought and problem-solving.

  • Proven English communication abilities, especially the capacity to write, edit, and proofread letters.
  • Solid computer abilities; familiarity with a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, OneDrive, and other common office productivity programs. the capacity to pick up new software quickly.
