The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), a Swiss-based nonprofit organisation established in partnership with the Nigeria Climate Innovation Centre (NCIC) in 2002 to combat the human suffering brought on by malnutrition, has co-created the Agribusiness Innovation Challenge to draw qualified agritech startups with ideas for enhancing the food supply chain in Nigeria.
The Challenge aims to explore, develop, and scale novel approaches to problems with food safety and a more wholesome food supply chain that can fulfil the demands of a growing population while simultaneously addressing the pressing issues brought on by climate change in Nigeria. Additionally, the challenge, which is a component of GAIN’s Strengthening Nutrition in Priority Staples project, offers technical assistance training to women and youth-led start-ups in order to improve their capacity, access to financial services, and development of business concepts leveraging innovation to improve the efficiency of the food supply chain in Nigeria.
