An Extended Term Temporary (ETT) Driver is needed by the IFC Kampala office in Uganda. The resident representative for Rwanda and Uganda receives reports from this position.
obligations and responsibilities
- Drive employees to client locations and meetings.
- As required, gather and deliver official correspondence, invoices, and packages.
- Maintain company cars, including making sure that regular checks are made for things like tire pressure, engine oil, brake fluid, radiator coolant, gasoline level, battery water level, etc.
- Keep up with your daily vehicle journal.
- Check to see that the insurance, registration, and basic maintenance schedules are current.
- Ensure that the office vehicles are kept spotless at all times, including the engine bay.
- Ensure that car keys are kept in good condition and are kept safely.
- Ensure that the general state of the vehicles’ interior fixtures is inspected.
- Ensure that vehicles are always adequately outfitted with first aid toolboxes, fire extinguishers, toolkits, jacks, wheel spanners, tow ropes, jump leads, fan belts, and spare tires.
- Any additional administrative responsibilities that the Resident Representative may occasionally delegate.
Selection Standards
- A secondary school diploma or an equivalent is required.
- Have at least five years of driving experience; training in defensive driving techniques is a plus.
- A valid driving permit.
- Written and verbal English proficiency.
- Thorough familiarity of Kampala and its surroundings.
- References with a good driving record.
- Self-starter, responsible, mature, and adaptable personality.
- Team player, excellent customer focus, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with people from various nationalities.
