Emerald Publishing is requesting authors from African higher education institutions to submit business teaching examples with a focus on African emerging markets as part of a cooperation with the Association of African Business Schools (AABS).

The competition aims to stimulate and promote the creation of teaching cases of the highest calibre that are pertinent to the reality of dynamic and growing economies while also encouraging the growth of case-writing skills in such nations.

Prize Specifics

  • The total prize money for the AABS/Emerald award is over $2,250, which includes $1,000 for the winner and $500 for each of the two runners up!

Best Case Proposal & Best Case Award

  • EMCS is excited to welcome French entries for the AABS case-writing competitions for the first time. Authors from France can now compete in their own category for a chance to win a $250 reward.

Application Standards

Your case ought to:

  • Focus on emerging and developing markets from Africa
  • Be written by scholars who are based at African institutions of higher learning
  • Be based on a genuine circumstance in a genuine business.
  • They cannot take academic (research) cases; they must be a teaching case.
  • Not now be under consideration for publication in any ISSN- or ISBN-registered publication, or have previously been published in its present or substantially identical form with any other case centre.
  • A signed and completed consent to publication release form
  • Your case will be submitted automatically for peer review. A few examples will be published in the ISSN 2045 0621-indexed EMCS collection, according to Scopus. By entering the competition, you consent to publishing your case study in EMCS, provided that it is approved for publication following peer review and any necessary amendments.
