Startup Alley is a chance for businesses in the food and agriculture sectors to show off their inventions to attendees of the evokeAG. event. The Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (“Event”) will host Startup Alley as part of the evokeAG. conference on February 20 and 21, 2024, in Perth, Western Australia, Australia.

It’s a stage where innovation and technology combine to address the urgent issues facing the world’s food system.

This display will comprise 40 innovative companies (including those chosen to take part in Culinary Capital and the AgriFutures AgXelerate programme) thanks to the cherished cooperation with Syngenta. Over the course of the two-day event, they will jointly present their revolutionary ideas to the varied audience of evokeAG. delegates.

Launch Demo

  • The demo area will be a thrilling new addition to Startup Alley at the evokeAG. 2024 Perth event. Over the course of the two-day event, ten chosen firms will get the chance to present their innovations live, giving attendees unique experiences.
  • Through this interactive component, startups will be able to demonstrate the real-world uses of their inventions, increasing chances for funding and collaboration. During the evokeAG. programme breaks, the Startup Demo amphitheatre, which will be housed in the Exhibition Hub, will host startups and offer them a platform and screens.

  • Each participating firm will be given a specific station within the Startup Alley display space in 2024. 1 startup station at evokeAG. Startups will be able to efficiently present their innovations thanks to the branded station’s electricity and desk space.
  • 2 evokeAG. 2024 tickets: Two full-access passes to the two-day evokeAG. 2024 event will be given to each firm.
  • 2 tickets for the evokeAG Welcome Event. On Monday, February 19, 2024, the Royal Perth Yacht Club will host the evokeAG. Welcome Event. In a casual and friendly environment, this event provides a unique chance to network with other attendees and Startup Alley participants. The Welcome Event provides an excellent networking opportunity.
  • Join the Startup Alley cohort for the evokeAG Founders Lunch on February 22 in Perth for a chance to unwind and engage with your fellow cohort members over a laid-back long lunch.
  • Accommodation for two team members for three nights will be covered by the programme to provide a smooth experience for participating businesses. Startups will have a convenient and pleasant place to stay while attending the evokeAG. 2024 event thanks to the accommodation’s close proximity to the event site. Companies are responsible for covering their own transports and airfare.
  • Each participating company will be highlighted on the AgriFutures growAG. platform, a prestigious online showcase for cutting-edge agrifood tech and innovation. This extensive resource links startups with industry players, investors, and possible partners.
  • Alumni of startups evokeAG: Each startup joins the evokeAG. Startup Alumni by taking part in Startup Alley. Through this programme, participants can obtain post-event support efforts such as mentorship possibilities and access to sponsorship options for agrifood tech events. Being an alumni member offers continuing assistance and networking possibilities for ongoing development.

What are they seeking, exactly?

  • Outstanding innovation and technology: Scaleups and startups must show off outstanding technologies and solutions that have the power to completely transform the agri-food industry.
  • Their inventions should address global issues and promote improvement in the sector. Agritech, foodtech, spacetech, climatetech, and sustainability are a few of the focus industries. Companies must be able to show how their technology has a distinct advantage over rival products.
  • Developmental stage: Businesses should be in the early to growth stages. Those that have a minimal viable product (MVP) or proof of concept and are actively looking for commercialization or scaling prospects include startups and scaleups. Companies having a defined path for product development, market penetration, and growth may receive preference.
  • Market potential: Applicants must show that their innovations have a large market potential. This entails having a thorough awareness of the target market, clients, and competitive environment. Startups need to show that there is market demand, as well as the possibility of growth and profitability.
  • Impact that can be seen: Startups should demonstrate how their innovations influence the agri-food industry for the better. This could be done via strengthening food security, enhancing food safety, increasing efficiency, or driving environmental and social effect.
  • Global reach: Both domestic and foreign startups are welcome to apply to the programme. All businesses are encouraged to submit applications as long as their inventions have the potential to have a significant influence on the global agrifood industry.

eligibility

  • Businesses that satisfy the following requirements (“Start-Up Alley Eligible Applicants”) are welcome to apply to Startup Alley.
  • Has event participants who are: 18 years of age or older on the event day; is a registered business in Australia or another foreign jurisdiction.
  • Permanent residents of the Pacific Islands, New Zealand, or Australia.
  • Is a company that is in the early to growth stages of development, has a proof of concept or minimal viable product, and is actively looking for commercialization or scaling options.
  • Is devoted and accessible: Startups chosen for Startup Alley must be committed to taking part actively. Attending the evokeAG. 2024 Event and actively interacting with participants, investors, and potential clients are part of this. Startups should be ready to present their solutions live and engage in selected meetings, matchmaking events, and networking opportunities.

Selection Standards

  • The following selection criteria will be used to evaluate Startup Alley applications:
  • Has a well-defined path for expanding its market, developing its products, and growing.
  • Exhibits exceptional innovation and technology in the agritech, foodtech, spacetech, climatetech, sustainability, or a substantially related sector, including by showcasing how its technology has a unique competitive advantage over rivals and how its technologies and solutions have the potential to revolutionise the industry, address global challenges, and support improvements in Australian agriculture.
  • Provides proof of market demand, the potential for scalability and profitability, and a comprehensive explanation of the target market, customers, and competitive landscape. It also exhibits great market potential for its innovations.
  • Demonstrates a positive impact on the agri-food industry, such as by strengthening food safety, efficiency, sustainability, or security, or by promoting environmental and social impact.
  • Shows the potential to significantly affect both the Australian and international agri-food sectors: Businesses from all regions are encouraged to apply if their inventions have the potential to have a significant impact on the Australian and global agrifood sectors. The programme is accessible to both Australian and foreign startups.
  • Shows a commitment to development and sustainability after the Event: The programme looks for businesses with the potential to grow, draw further funding, and establish long-term alliances.
  • The evokeAG Alumni Programme, sponsorship options for agrifood tech events, and mentorship opportunities are just a few of the post-event support programmes that participants should be receptive to.
