To support the fair development of South Africa’s film and video industry, the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an organisation under the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture, was established. The Sediba’s Development of the Content Producers Programme request for submissions is now open, the NFVF is happy to inform.

The Sediba’s Development of the Content Producers Programme is specifically targeted at more seasoned producers in the film, television, and streaming industries who are ambitious and looking to further their knowledge and businesses. The first core component of the training focuses on understanding the evolving Entertainment Value Chain, underlying rights and IP, copyright and long-term value of content, as well as the significance of packaging content. The program’s core section looks at financing, worldwide streaming, transaction terms, the ongoing significance of risk management, and working effectively with sales and distribution. The third segment discusses positioning, launching, and successful marketing tactics for festivals and markets abroad.
The chosen participants will not be charged for the programme.
The four workshops that make up the programme will be place in Johannesburg from November 27 through November 30, 2023, from 9:00 am to 17:00 pm.
Eligibility?
A minimum corpus of high-caliber short films or at least one feature-length production is required of producers.
Requirements
Submission of the following supporting documents is required:
- A motivational letter outlining the advantages of enrolling in the SEDIBA programme.
- A two-page summary of any ongoing projects the candidate is working on
- The applicant’s CV
- A certified copy of the applicant’s current, six-month-old South African identity document
