The Mo Ibrahim Leadership Fellowship Programme is an exclusive fellowship that trains the next generation of exceptional African leaders by giving them rare opportunities to work at the highest levels of renowned African institutions or multilateral organizations, whose mission it is to enhance the economic and social prospects of Africa.

The Fellowship gives gifted people the chance to develop their professional skills with the goal of improving the governance and development of their nations and fostering the emergence of future African leaders.
Mo Ibrahim Foundation Information
The Mo Ibrahim Foundation was established in 2006 with the goal of promoting excellent leadership and government throughout Africa. The Foundation’s goals include:
- Encourage discussion of good governance; Offer standards by which individuals and governments can gauge development;
- Recognize African leaders who have demonstrated success and offer advice on how they might leave a positive legacy after leaving office;
- Aspiring African leaders should receive your support.
Benefits
Three Fellows are given the chance to work with a $100,000 stipend in the executive offices of the AfDB (Abidjan), ECA (Addis Abeba), or ITC (Geneva) each year.
Eligibility
- Open to African executives in their early to mid-career stages who have a master’s degree and related job experience;
- a citizen of an African nation;
- 7 years minimum of related work experience
- graduate degree;
- younger than 40, or 45 if a woman is a parent;
- any other requirements imposed by the host.
