In order to give talented West Africans interested in a future in public service a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pursue a Master of Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, the AIG-Imoukhuede Foundation Scholarships were established in 2017. Since 2017, 29 prospective public sector executives who have shown a passion for the field have received scholarships worth over £50,000 apiece.
AIG Scholars spend a year at one of the finest universities in the world where they meet with other international students who are aspiring public sector leaders and learn from exceptional academic faculty and industry professionals. Scholars return to their home countries after earning their degrees and use what they have learned to strengthen policymaking, support reforms, and advance their nations’ development.
Eligibility requirements
- You must be a Nigerian currently employed in the federal or state government’s ministries, departments, agencies, or parastatals.
- between the ages of 25 and 45
- possess a minimum of seven (7) years of work experience, including in the public and commercial sectors.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree with a second-class upper qualification or higher
Program Information
Financial Assistance • Tuition, living costs, and a stipend for a summer project will all be covered.
Coaching & Mentoring Scholars will receive extensive coaching and mentoring to help them get the most out of their time at Oxford.
AIG Scholars will receive complete assistance in laying up their career development plans and gaining access to opportunities that are in line with their areas of interest and make use of the information they have acquired at Oxford.
Working knowledge
AIG Scholars will begin summer internships during which they will broaden their networks internationally and learn more about their areas of interest.
