In collaboration with the Institut Kôrè des Arts et Métiers (IKAM) and Arterial Network Cameroon, the African Cultural Fund is announcing this call for applications in order to choose 15 young cultural managers from central Africa to attend the BOOT CAMP #4 of the ACF ACADEMY program, which is scheduled to take place from August 7 to August 12 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Goals
- Through the organization of a BOOT CAMP (capacity building camp) in association with the Institut Kôrè des Arts et Métiers (IKAM) in Ségou and Arterial Network Cameroon, this call aims to support the development of cultural management skills for fifteen (15) young cultural managers from Central Africa (including 8 women and 7 men).
- The Institut Kôrè des Arts et Métiers (IKAM) in Mali is the organization that certifies the ACF ACADEMY Program’s Boot Camps.
- After finishing the ACF ACADEMY course, participants will obtain a Professional Aptitude Certificate called Kôrè-Qualité, giving them the tools they need to advance their careers in cultural management. The network of IKAM institutions and their partners throughout all of Africa accept the Kôrè-Qualité Certificate.
- Fourth-level training material: Cultural Management
This is the fourth Boot Camp (capacity building camp) in association with Arterial Network Cameroon and the Institut Kôrè des Arts et Métiers (IKAM) in Ségou. It will provide participants with cutting-edge pedagogical content, specialized coaching and mentoring mechanisms, and a focus on particular skills in managing and structuring cultural enterprises. Experienced experts from around Africa will offer coaching and mentoring. - This fourth Boot Camp’s training sessions will last one week, and IKAM coaches and mentors will lead the students through the curriculum.
- Personal Development, Digitalization and Creative Innovation, Financial Management and Fundraising, and Cultural Entrepreneurship Maaya (CEM) are the courses that will be delivered.
Requirements
This call for applications is being launched by ACF in association with IKAM and Arterial Network Cameroon and is directed at young Central African cultural players and entrepreneurs that meet the following requirements:
- Have an age range of 21 to 40.
- Become a private cultural operator or actor.
- Be a citizen of one of the Central African nations.
- possess at least three years’ worth of experience running a cultural business or event.
- Be willing to take part in the many workshops, social gatherings, and coaching sessions planned as a part of the ACF-ACADEMY program.
Benefits
All costs for participants during the Boot Camp, including international travel, lodging, meals, and local travel while participating in the program, are covered by the ACF-ACADEMY program.
Application Method
Email applications should be sent to the African Cultural Fund (ACF) and the Institut Kôrè des Arts et Métiers (IKAM) if you’re interested in being a part of this program.
The following documents must be included with the application:
- CV (curriculum vitae)
- Motivational letter Copies of your ID or something comparable
- A copy of the cultural enterprise’s founding documentation, such as its receipt, economic operator card or trade register entry, and statutes, etc.
- A brief description of the cultural enterprise and/or project is given. The most recent activity report is for the period up to 2022.
Timeline
Applications must be submitted between June 15 and July 15, 2023.
It should be noted that the Boot Camp is slated to run from August 7 to August 12, 2023.
