Win a €50,000 prize in the Eramet Water Resource Innovation Challenge 2023

September 13, 2023 is the deadline. | Win a €50,000 prize in the Eramet Water Resource Innovation Challenge 2023.

The Eramet Water Resource Innovation Challenge 2023 is now accepting applications. Eramet has collaborated with EIT RawMaterials to create a new start-up competition as part of its dedication to sustainable and ethical mining operations.

Although it is scarce and of poor quality, water is an essential resource in the mining and metals production industries. Water is used in the mining sector for a number of activities, including mineral processing, dust suppression, transporting and storing slurry, and extraction procedures. According to OECD 2012, by 2050, global water consumption is expected to rise by 55% while the water crisis caused by climate change gets worse. Taking action to address the water concerns is the focus of the Eramet Water Resource Innovation Challenge. Water conservation is really one of Eramet’s goals for its 2018–2023 CSR roadmap, and it will soon be given top emphasis in its new roadmap.

The mining and metals sector needs to adjust quickly if it wants to reduce its negative environmental effects while maintaining access to vital resources. It demands ground-breaking answers that will contribute to building a brighter future for everyone.
