Regarding the Grant
IBM has announced a $5 million in-kind donation to schools to improve cybersecurity and AI training.
- IBM has released a global request for proposals (RFP) to support K–12 public schools and educational institutions resist cyberattacks and develop their faculty and students’ cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) skills in response to the widening skills gap and threat of ransomware attacks at schools.
- In addition to giving schools improved training on AI and cybersecurity through IBM SkillsBuild, IBM will contribute $5 million in-kind to help address cybersecurity resiliency in educational institutions around the world. These security scholarships have already assisted 350,000 students worldwide.
To assist schools in developing initiatives to address cybersecurity resiliency, IBM Education Security Preparedness Grants will be given to institutions all across the world.
These grants will be dispersed by volunteers through IBM Service Corps. Each chosen school will get the following:
- Playbooks for ransomware and incident response strategies
- programs to solve the issue of operating system updates
- Response to cyber incidents: strategic communication strategy
- Apple SkillsDevelop training and digital certifications in areas like cybersecurity and artificial intelligence
- Additional advantages include improved access to IBM mentors, teacher toolkits and training, and personalized learning pathways.
Eligibility
Nonprofit and non-governmental (NGO) groups from all around the world are welcome to apply for IBM sponsorship to help build programs that address cybersecurity resiliency through the IBM Education Security Preparedness Grant program.
