Concerning the Organization

The first of its type climate fund, the Global Youth Climate Action Fund (GYCAF), aims to support youth-led climate action across the globe. The concept for the fund was hatched during COP25 and evolved over a three-month period of consultation with the help of virtual conversations with finance experts to help create a vehicle that supports and encourages youth-led climate action. BLI Global is the host of this initiative.

An international grassroots non-profit organization called BLI Global (improved Living Initiatives – Global) is dedicated to supporting initiatives, solutions, and projects that will maintain improved living circumstances all over the world.

Regarding the Grant

In order to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment, GYCAF envisions a society in which young people have the tools necessary to engage in green entrepreneurship and build a green economy.

Fund’s Purpose: To support youth-led climate action in areas most at risk from the effects of climate change.

By 2025, global temperatures must be well below 2 degrees Celsius, according to a financial target, and the IPCC predicts an uncertain future.
Need to develop a strategy for execution that fosters a supportive environment for kids Beneficiaries: The fund focuses on youth-led networks and groups that are looking for funding for their initiatives and ventures.

Focus on Microgrants Funding –

Sustainability in food production is ensured through sustainable agriculture.
Communities in need of energy and light are being powered by clean energy.
Oceans: safeguarding marine life and preventing catastrophic climate change.
Youth empowerment through capacity building and business training.
Protecting biodiversity and encouraging behavior change are two aspects of green stewardship.
Innovation and technology have made strides toward resolving climate-related issues.
Grants between USD 500 and USD 1,000 will be given to successful candidates, based on the grantee application.

Eligibility

Organization with a youth-led leadership (80% majority ownership; approved definition of youth is those under 30 years old)
a strong desire to use grassroots action to affect or alter the community
participating in community activism on a grassroots level
requesting funding to launch new activities or assist those that already exist
Environmental transparency and the project’s or initiative’s socioeconomic effects
A specific plan for how the money will be used and why receiving this grant would benefit the project and increase its value and effect
Shows evidence of a well-thought-out project with a determined strategy, timetable, budget, and team management.
