The Award is given to a professional in entrepreneurship for their remarkable performance or contribution in entrepreneurship training, education, mentoring, or knowledge creation that results in the establishment of businesses. The Late Dr. V.G. Patel’s vision and desire to create entrepreneurship as a distinctive development strategy are honored by this national award.
The entrepreneurial community refers to the late Dr. V. G. Patel as the “Father of the Entrepreneurship Movement” and honored him with the Padma Shri award on March 30, 2017. On April 4, 2019, the charismatic leader, who was known as “V. G.,” put an end to his illustrious life that had lasted nearly eight decades. He began by persuading people about “entrepreneurship” in the 1970s, and after facing many challenges, he was able to establish the idea as the gold standard for increasing a country’s business index, creating employment possibilities, and fostering economic development.
The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), a National Resource Institute in Entrepreneurship, was founded in Ahmedabad by eminent financial institutions as a result of the outcomes of numerous initiatives. The goals of Dr. Patel, whom he rightfully lauded as the backbone of the entrepreneurship development movement, were realized in large part thanks to the entrepreneurial trainers, educators, and mentors who helped with all the planning and implementation. The accomplishments grant Dr. V. G. Patel immortality. His vision and unmatched desire to elevate “entrepreneurship” to the rank of an original development strategy are the focus of this award in particular.
Award
- A citation and a cash award of Rs. 100,000 are included with the Award.
- Open to all professionals actively involved in mentoring, educating, training, and promoting start-ups.
at least five years of relevant experience is required.
Application
- A high-level award committee would analyze the nominee’s accomplishments and conduct a one-on-one interview with the nominee before deciding on a winner. The Award Committee’s decision is final and enforceable against all applicants.
