Schwarzman Scholars supports up to 200 Scholars annually from the U.S., China, and around the world for a one-year master’s in global affairs at Beijing’s Tsinghua University — ranked first in Asia as an indispensable base for China’s political, business, and technological leadership.

Eligibility:
In addition to demonstrating extraordinary leadership skills, the ability to anticipate and act on trends and changes in their context, strong intellectual capacity, and exemplary character, candidates must meet the following criteria;
- All nationalities are eligible.
- Candidates must be at least 18 but not yet 29 years of age as of August 1 of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year.
- If the applicant’s native language is not English, official English proficiency test scores must be submitted with the application. Acceptable test options are:
- Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT). Minimum score 100.
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Minimum score 7.
- Cambridge English: Advanced (C1) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (C2). Minimum score 185.
- Undergraduate degree or first degree from an accredited college or university or its equivalent.
Those who are applying must be on pace to satisfactorily complete all degree requirements before August 1 of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year. This condition applies to those who are presently enrolled in undergraduate degree programs. All undergraduate majors are acceptable; there are no criteria for a particular field of study. However, it is crucial for applicants, regardless of undergraduate major, to explain how being a Schwarzman Scholar will help them develop their leadership potential in their profession.
Fields of Study:
Master’s Degree and Leadership Programme in Global Affairs with concentrations on one of the following disciplines: Public Policy, Economic and Business, International Studies
Value:
The student will be given a full scholarship, which will cover tuition and fees, accommodation and meals, travel to and from Beijing at the start and conclusion of the academic year, an in-country study tour, the cost of all necessary textbooks and supplies, health insurance, and a monthly personal stipend.
