Every two (2) years, the Challenge is given out to recognize the accomplishments of groups like private businesses, non-governmental organizations, and research institutions that have carried out initiatives and programs to help the world transition to an energy system entirely powered by renewable energy sources, or that have performed crucial analyses that have produced useful roadmaps for the transformation. The award recipient is a step in the direction of realizing ISES’s mission. Only via business and civic society activities toward cutting-edge and effective programs that adopt the use of renewable energy technologies and the wise implementation of energy efficiency measures can this ambition be realized. The energy transformation in the context of this Challenge is applicable to all end-use energy use, including power, heat, and transportation.
