Through an open ideas competition, suitable start-ups for develoPPP Ventures funding are chosen. All start-ups that meet the requirements can participate in this twice a year event. The financial agreement is made with either DEG Impulse gGmbH or Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, depending on the target nation.

Requirements
- Rules for entering the develoPPP Ventures idea competition
- Prior to the co-financed expansion investment, your business is registered in the target country or has plans to do so.
- You are pursuing a novel company strategy and have already seen some success (proof of concept)
- The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are accomplished in part because to your company model’s high development relevance and scalability.
- Tanzania, Kenya, and Nigeria
- Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and Tanzania are currently eligible for funding under develoPPP Ventures. A team of regional experts who are delighted to answer your questions supports the application and selection processes in each nation.
Selection Process
- Applications are chosen through a multi-stage process at develoPPP Ventures.
- First, a decision is made based on the application materials and presentations.
- The businesses that make it through this step are next looked at as part of the due diligence process, when more in-depth information is assessed (such as the business plan with financial predictions (for at least five years), annual financial statements, and information on other investors).

Twice a year, develoPPP Ventures holds an ideas competition. The following time slots are available for you to submit your application materials:
May 15 through June 30 is the second quarter.
November 15 through December31, fourth quarter
