The ecosystems Trust has a specific emphasis on protecting lesser-known species and ecosystems that are in danger but are frequently disregarded and require immediate conservation care. The Habitats Trust has been at the forefront of inspiring conservation action for these under-the-radar issues, whether it be working on the conservation of the Indian Pangolin, the world’s most trafficked mammal, saving the Great Indian Bustard, of which fewer than 150 remain in the wild, or restoring coral reef ecosystems, of which 75% are currently threatened by human activity.

Regarding the Grant
The environments Trust Grants honor and assist organizations and individuals working to protect India’s unique flora and fauna and natural environments, particularly the less well-known species and neglected ecosystems. The Grants are designed to assist comprehensive, ground-breaking, and reproducible conservation projects.
Grants For Groups/Personal Use:
THT Conservation Grant ($1,000,000) – The THT Conservation Grant provides funding to organizations that address conservation issues in India, particularly those affecting lesser-known species and important habitats.
The grants are meant to support conservation projects that are comprehensively planned. Only organizations may apply for the funding. It will go to the two applicants who made the short list and be administered for three years.
THT Action Grant ($25,000): The THT Action Grant provides financial assistance to people and organizations working on conservation projects that are focused on lesser-known species and/or ecosystems that need immediate conservation action.
Both organizations and individuals are eligible for the funding. Three shortlisted candidates will each receive it for a two-year period.
THT Seed Grant ($3,000,000) – The THT Seed Grant focuses mostly on lesser-known species and crucial ecosystems in order to close a critical and urgent gap in conservation efforts. The grant will be handled for a maximum of one year.
How to Apply:
Between May 3 and June 5, 2023, we will be taking applications for the THT Conservation Grant and THT Action Grant. Applications for the THT Seed Grant are accepted all year round.
