The six-week program is designed for startups who are in the incubation stage and have a Minimum Viable Product or Service but no traction. The curriculum concentrates on business modeling, storytelling, pitching, and justice design thinking with the goal of delivering high-quality action learning. The program this year is concentrated on assisting creative early-stage entrepreneurs in Kenya.
The startups will focus during the incubation phase on getting their product in users’ hands as quickly as possible, aggressively and continuously obtaining their feedback, and improving the MVP in response. This entails gathering sufficient users and conducting testing on them.
Benefits
A six-week curriculum provided by the Justice Entrepreneurship School gives justice startups:
- A one-week residential boot camp featuring business growth, team & leadership, design thinking, and other topics presented by subject-matter experts in the field.
- mentoring and coaching on the subjects of your choosing.
- access to the regional network of legal technology companies, judicial officials, and top scholars that HiiL has established.
- a self-service learning platform and certification.
- a chance to win up to €1,000 on the Justice Innovation Circle demo day at the program’s conclusion.
Eligibility
The following startups are eligible for the program:
- Have a solution that satisfies those who struggle to access efficient, simple-to-understand, affordable, and accessible means to prevent or solve their justice problems and who have unmet justice needs.
- Have a minimally feasible problem or a basic product or service, such as an existing prototype.
- Have no traction, which means that the product is still not in the hands of people or that only a limited number of early adopter users are using it. As a result, there is still insufficient proof that the product or company can succeed.
- led by a group of two to three passionate co-founders who are driven by a desire to do good and have an effect.
Application
The deadline for applications is Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 23:59 EAT.
