Scholarship 2024 from the Committee for International Cooperation & Development (CICOPS)

Deadline: May 31, 2023 | Scholarship 2024 from the Committee for International Cooperation & Development (CICOPS)

The Committee for International Cooperation & Development (CICOPS) Scholarship 2024 is now accepting applications. The University of Pavia and EDiSU (Institute of the Right to University Studies) are offering 5 scholarships to visiting scholars for the year 2024 for a period of stay of 4 to 12 weeks at the University of Pavia in order to promote international cooperation, particularly with Developing Countries (as classified by the World Bank in low, lower middle, and upper middle-income economies).

To encourage collaboration with developing nations and foster connections between the University of Pavia and universities in these nations, CICOPS was founded in 1984. CICOPS is dedicated to the institutional and human development of underdeveloped nations. By giving young people the chance to develop and help their nations progress, this goal is accomplished.

Scholarship

The scholarship offers weekly contributions of 150 Euros (gross), travel, meal, and lodging expenses, health insurance, and other benefits.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have at least two years of experience teaching or working with international institutions and organizations.
  • Scholarships are intended for junior and senior faculty members at universities in developing nations, as well as for those affiliated with significant research institutions, international organizations, or institutions, who have a particular interest in the field of development studies.
  • In order to promote the mobility of researchers from developing nations, CICOPS scholarships are designated for short-term research collaboration. Applicants cannot apply if they are enrolled in a doctoral or postgraduate program at an Italian university.

Application

The duration of the stay should fall between January 8 and July 20, 2024, and September 9 and December 21, 2024, in order to promote interaction between faculty and students.

The following files need to be uploaded to the form online:

  • Curriculum vitae containing a list of publications, ideally in European format (filename: Surname_Name_CV)
  • Letter of invitation from the professor or researcher you wish to work with (file name should be Surname_Name_Letter)
  • The names of the uploaded files should match those specified above. Applications without an invitation letter and a curriculum vitae with the proper title will not be considered. Once you have received the letter of acceptance from your contact professor at the University of Pavia, only then should you complete your application. No allowances will be made; applications that are incomplete will be rejected.
