Program for Students from the Mastercard Foundation at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (MCFSP at KNUST). The objective is to develop the next generation of transformative leaders who will lead ethically and positively impact their various home countries as well as the entire African Continent.

MCFSP at KNUST offers a wide range of scholarships so that qualified, academically gifted, but economically underprivileged, young people in Ghana and Africa can receive a high-quality university education.

Her scholars have the chance to receive comprehensive instruction through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, enabling them to lead change effectively. The program offers a wide range of services, such as mentoring, ethical leadership seminars, skill development, etc., that will enable the scholar to succeed academically, interact with the community, and transition to job opportunities that will prepare the scholar to be a global citizen.

Conditions for Qualifying

  • All prospective candidates must have a genuine and legal WASSCE, GBCE, ABCE, GCE O’Level & A’Level, or their equivalent results, from an accredited/recognized school, in their possession at the time of application. The findings of the applicant cannot be older than five years.
  • Additionally, the applicants must satisfy KNUST’s admission requirements. The recipient of the scholarship must be admitted to a KNUST school successfully in order for it to be given out.
  • International applicants are told to go to the same address and choose the option for International students only. Ghanaian applicants are required to buy an E voucher for the purpose of filling out the application for admission whenever the online portal opens.
  • No candidates with pending results will be considered for the bursary.
  • The applicant must prove that they have urgent financial needs.
  • The candidate must have a track record of leadership and involvement in the community (s).
  • There shall be consideration for:
  • Females
  • displaced individuals (Certified Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons, etc.)
  • Those with Disabilities

  • The applicant cannot be engaged in a postsecondary program.
  • Downloading the application paper (HERE!) will allow those who qualify to apply for the scholarship to do so.
  • The watermark on the scholarship registration form reads “2022,” and it is free to use.
  • Those who meet the requirements should register as soon as they can for the scholarship. Don’t wait until KNUST admissions are available.

Steps for Application

  • From mid-March to the end of September 2023, a staggered ongoing application procedure will be open for the scholarship.
  • Unannounced site visits will be conducted for Ghanaian applicants. There will be three interviews conducted in succession by three independent panels, and unsuccessful candidates will be informed at each step.
  • Only after candidates have had their results confirmed, three interviews, and, in the case of Ghanaian applicants, a visit, will they be notified in writing of their success.
  • At no point in the process are charges, fees, facilitation, agents, or intermediaries necessary.
  • Any applicant who provides false information or intentionally misrepresents facts or makes an effort to sway the selection process will be disqualified and have their employment recommended for termination.
  • The Terminal Selection Committee’s decisions are final. To receive important information about an applicant’s application, telephone numbers, Skype IDs, and email addresses given by applicants should be active at all times.
