The James Dyson Award application period is now open for 2023. James Dyson is looking for brilliant individuals with original ideas from all across the world. They are interested in learning about your inventions if they offer a solution.
The James Dyson Award is a global design prize that honors, supports, and motivates the upcoming generation of design engineers. It is run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson’s charity trust, and is available to current and recent design engineering students as part of its objective to inspire young people about design engineering.

Eligibility
- Open to engineering, product design, and industrial design graduates from the past four years as well as current university students in these fields. They’ll need to see official proof of it in writing.
- You can still enter as a team if you don’t want to work alone or if you studied something different but have an excellent concept you want to share. Each team member must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for at least one semester, with the exception of the team leader, who must have studied one of the qualifying courses.
- They are also available to those who are currently enrolled in or have just finished degree-level apprenticeships in the fields of engineering or design.
- All applicants must have completed their education in one of the following nations or regions: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States.
Application
To participate, you must first register and upload documentation proving that you are a student or recent graduate in one of the acceptable fields. Each team member must create an account if they are participating as a group so that the organizers can confirm your eligibility. You will each be in charge of submitting an entry.
