Applications are being accepted for the Litigating Reproductive Justice in Africa (LIRA) Program’s data collecting positions at Afya na Haki. By proactive, evidence-based, and cooperative litigation for access to Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) at national, sub-regional, regional, and international levels, the Program seeks to foster an environment in which Africa embraces reproductive justice.
In order to build a repository that will be utilized to assist SRHR litigation and evidence-based SRHR advocacy in Africa, Ahaki is looking to engage data collectors for the gathering, documenting, and preservation of SRHR cases. The hired people will gather information about current and concluded SRHR matters from court records, archives, and case law reports.

Important Duties : Call For Data Collectors: Afya Na Haki (Ahaki)
The following duties will be expected of the data collectors working on this assignment in particular:
- Taking part in data gathering in accordance with the study’s protocol;
- Data collection and transcription for reporting purposes;
- Visit legal libraries, archives, and courthouse registers to gather information;
- Respond to any inquiries that respondents may have while the data is being collected;
- Take part in data validation to confirm the accuracy of the information gathered;
- Daily fieldwork updates should include completed interviews and other significant data on field data gathering;
- Any additional responsibilities imposed by the study coordinator or the data collection team leaders.

Personal preferences
- The applicant must be at least a second-year student in any of the following fields: law, public health, social sciences, gender studies, human rights, or any other field related to SRHR at an approved university in Uganda.
- The candidate should have a strong interest in SRHR-related research, litigation, and capacity building.
- Project management and implementation work experience will be a bonus.
- English language proficiency is a necessity.
- Application of data gathering methods and methodologies, as well as experience with data analysis and data presentation, will be advantageous.
