The Westerwelle Foundation Young Founders Program – Spring 2023 is now accepting applications. A six-month fellowship for 25 leaders, the Westerwelle Young Founders Programme (YFP) advances emerging and developing markets toward a sustainable future.

With the following program strategy, they provide focused support to scale the enterprises of their founders and enhance their leadership skills:

·      Conference: On March 3 and 6, 2023, there will be a two-day digital conference.

·      The Young Founders will receive six months of assistance, including a personal mentor, monthly peer learning sessions, monthly expert workshops, and networking opportunities with businesses and investors, through the Remote Programme from March to August 2023.

·      Conference in Berlin: In May 2024, the top ten Young Founders will be invited to a five-day conference in Berlin. The founders will have the chance to pitch to investors, take part in workshops, attend networking events, and learn more about the German startup landscape during this conference.

·      Peer learning is the sharing of information and mutual support among the cohort’s other successful young founders.

·      Expert Sessions: Comprehensive discussions on pertinent subjects with world-class experts.

·      Buddy Program: Connections to program graduates provide access to new business prospects.

·      Berlin Conference: The top 10 participants will receive exposure to the Berlin Startup Ecosystem through a fully sponsored one-week conference with the other founders.

Eligibility

In order to become the leaders of a sustainable future, they are seeking entrepreneurs who meet the following criteria:

·      You are a resident or a citizen of an emerging or developing nation.

·      You recently (within the past five years) founded a for-profit business targeted at emerging or developing markets.

·      Your business has a scalable business plan that, ideally, has already brought in money or attracted a small amount of outside capital.

·      You or your company have disruptive capabilities that can raise the standard, influence, or diversity of the market.

·      You are fluent in working-level English.

·      You are able to schedule time to take part in program activities for the next six months and are available to attend the digital kick-off conference.

Application

The Programme Team will be able to learn more about your startup and profile by reviewing the application that follows. Prepare the following essential components:

·      Your business plan pitch

·      fundamental financial data (i.e. revenues, funding)

·      Your CV or LinkedIn profile

·      The application will take about 20 minutes if you have these. Only fully submitted applications will be examined.

The deadline for submissions is February 15 at 23:59 CET. February 16–25, 2023, for interviews with candidates who have made the short list. All applicants will be notified by March 1, 2023.
