The Africa-Korea Agtech Innovation Challenge is being launched by the World Bank in collaboration with Plug and Play Tech Center, the Korea World Bank Partnership Facility (KWPF), the Korean Green Growth Trust Fund (KGGTF), and the Korea World Bank to identify disruptive agricultural technologies (DATs) interested in operating in Kenya and Uganda. The World Bank is looking into the possibility of integrating DATs into its activities and building connections among innovators. (Agtech Innovation Challenge and Summit for African Innovators)
Submission deadline is November 30, 2022.
The online application procedure, which finishes on November 30, 2022, will provide fifteen finalists. At the Africa-Korea Agtech Innovation Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, in February 2023, the finalists will present their products. Key government representatives from Kenya, Uganda, and South Korea, as well as representatives from the World Bank and well-known accelerators and venture capital firms, will view the finalists during the three-day Summit (VCs). The Challenge will offer networking possibilities, as well as educational opportunities and field tours to some of Kenya’s agri-innovation locations. The winning approaches can also get a chance to join Kenya’s One Million Farmers Platform.

2. Providing downstream and upstream linkages and expanding market access
3. Farmers’ financial inclusion
Requirements
The following requirements for eligibility must be met by applicants:
be duly incorporated in the nation or countries where you operate before 30 November 2020 (and have been doing so for more than two years)
Particular interest in working in South Korea, Kenya, or Uganda
Must have a publicly accessible product that has paying customers or users.
One of the three challenge themes must be addressed by the product. agricultural production, expanding market access, or creatively incorporating farmers’ finances
Benefits
The best 15 entries (the “Finalists”) will be compensated for their travel and lodging costs to the “Africa-Korea Agtech Innovation Summit” in Nairobi, Kenya, in February 2023.
The best solution might be given the chance to join Kenya’s One Million Farmers Platform.
Finalists have the chance to network with important members of the global ecosystem, such as the Kenyan government, World Bank stakeholders, well-known accelerators, and venture capital firms (VCs)
