Around the past 12 years, young people all over the world have benefited from the iKapture Centre for Development’s flagship program, the Youth Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Development (YLEAD) Fellowship. Young people can gain information from seasoned thought leaders, collaborate with other changemakers, and build important networks to improve their lives and the lives of those around them through the virtual program. A creative response to the skills gap among young people is YLEAD. While preparing them for their future careers and higher education, it aims to improve learning and engage students in the most effective way possible. In-depth modules and information are available in the program on topics including self-awareness, discovering one’s purpose, emotional intelligence, goal-setting, time management, etiquette, ethics, and values, among others. Participants will have access to virtual job placements and digital skills this year.
Since its inception, YLEAD has reached more than 500 young people thanks to funding from the Young African Women Leaders’ Forum Small Grants of Michelle Obama, the British Council’s Global Changemakers, the American Corner Calabar, the U.S. Department of State Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF), and Ashoka’s Youth Venture.
Eligibility
The YLEAD program is open to all ambitious young leaders around the world who may be in school, recently graduated, or unemployed youth between the ages of 15 and 30.
